A Student Senator represents between 100-150 students within their constituency, and are responsible for serving in the best interest of students. The main goal of all student senators is to provide an impactful student voice and to ensure fairness in all Student Government activities.

COMMITTEES
Appropriations
Committee Chair, Senator Fitzsimmons
This committee appropriates funding to campus organizations that have submitted financial requests, primarily for travel or equipment needs. The trips, speaker, and events request may only be up to $1,000. Equipment request may go up to $1,500. If equipment request exceeds $1,500 they can be matched dollar per dollar. After conducting a meeting with representatives from each petitioning organization, the committee presents a bill to the entire Senate stating the recommended funding levels.
Legislative and Political Action

This committee researches, reports and recommends legislation to the Senate on issues from all levels of government that are important to FHSU. They also review all student fees on an annual and bi-annual schedule.
Senate Affairs
Committee Chair, Senator Artman
The Senate Affairs Committee makes recommendations to the Senate on issues involving the internal operation of the Senate. They also recruit and interview students to become senators.
Student Relations and Involvement

The purpose of this committee is to research, conduct and evaluate, on a continuing basis, programs of action and communication to achieve an informed and involved student body at FHSU, and increase mutual beneficial relationship between the Student Government Association, FHSU, and the community as a whole.
