The FHSU Science and Mathematics Education Institute is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm excluding state holidays. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, closed Fridays. Feel free to contact the Institute staff if we can be of assistance to you.

Dr. Paul Adams
Dr. Paul Adams is the Executive Director for the Science and Mathematics Education Institute. He received his B.S. in Physics/Math from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1983. From there he went on to receive his Master's Degree in Physics from Washington University. In 1996 he achieved his Doctorate of Philosophy in Science Education from Purdue University. When he is not busy working, Dr. Adams enjoys his time at home with his wife, Cheryl, and twin children. He also has two adult children and two grandchildren.

G.G. Launchbaugh
G.G. Launchbaugh is the Science Outreach Coordinator in the Science and Mathematics Education Institute Makerspace and Makervan. He is a native of NW Kansas and lives in Hays with his husband, Dr. Arvin Cruz. G.G. received a BFA in Industrial Design with a specialization in Product Design from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, Michigan in 2005.

Earl Legleiter
Earl Legleiter is Director of the Science and Mathematics Education Institute. He received a BS in Biology in 1977 from the University of Kansas and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Educational Programs – Science from Fort Hays State University in 2016. He is from Denver, Colorado he lives with wife Leslie, and enojys spending time with his two adult children and six grandchildren.

Cari Rohleder
Cari Rohleder is Coordinator of the Science and Mathematics Education Institute. She received her Bachelor of Arts, concentration in Art Education from Fort Hays State University in 2005. She is married to Scott with three children.
