Academic Caution
Academic Caution is assigned to continuing students when their cumulative GPA drops below a 2.0 and their previous academic standing was Good or Watch.
Academic Caution serves to alert students that their GPA is not meeting university requirements and that they must improve their academic performance to return to Good standing and to avoid moving to Academic Warning. Students on Academic Caution are required to work with a Success Coach to create an academic success plan and to complete the Back on Track Journey in Navigate 360.
- If the student's cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher at the end of the next semester, they return to Good standing.
- If the student earns a term GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of the next semester, but their cumulative GPA is still below a 2.0, they will continue on Academic Caution.
- If the student is on Academic Caution and then earns a term and cumulative GPA of less than a 2.0 the next semester, they move to Academic Warning.
Students on Academic Caution are eligible to continue to register but should check their financial aid status.
