Academic Watch
Any first-semester FHSU student who does not earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of their first term is placed on Academic Watch for their next semester. This applies to first-semester freshmen and first-semester transfer students.
The first semester as a freshman or a new transfer student is a challenging time and many students may struggle with academics during this transition. Students are placed on Academic Watch as a reminder that it is important to make some changes to return to Good standing.
Students on Academic Watch will meet with a Success Coach to reflect on their first semester and set goals for a stronger second semester. Students will also complete a Back on Track Journey in Navigate 360.
If the student earns a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of the next term, they return to Good standing. If the student’s cumulative GPA remains below a 2.0 at the end of their next term, they will move to Academic Caution.
