Why Give?
Gifts to Forsyth Library benefit FHSU students and faculty and the many citizens of western Kansas who use our resources, archives and special collections onsite and online. Forsyth Library receives over 200,000 visits each year. We offer our students quiet study spaces and group study rooms for collaborative learning and technology. We support FHSU's goal to make a college education more affordable by helping faculty create or adopt high-quality open education resources in lieu of commercial textbooks. We provide faculty with the journals, databases, eBooks and electronic resources they need to conduct important research and make new discoveries. We offer computers with access to global timely information to any person who visits Forsyth Library to pursue individual research. Our archives and special collections hold unique and distinctive materials that reflect the heritage and settling of Ellis county and our region of Kansas.
The Future of Forsyth
The current Forsyth Library building has served FHSU students and faculty for over 50 years and is scheduled for a major renovation to be completed by 2026. Learn more at the Forsyth Library Renovation blog. Your gift will help us provide library services and inspiring spaces to a new generation of FHSU students and faculty, meet the needs of FHSU programs for resources that support teaching and learning, and preserve and share our unique archival materials and special collections with our region, state and beyond.
Every graduate of FHSU is a beneficiary of Forsyth Library and the generosity of benefactors who support the library as a dynamic and integral place where learning is used and shared. In a world of accelerating costs and global connections, your philanthropic support is an essential component of our success.
