The Larry and Lyn Fenwick Reading Room
Access materials from Tebo Library's Special Collections & University Archives
Located on the upper level of the Tebo Library, the Larry & Lyn Fenwick Reading Room supports all researchers, regardless of academic affiliation or place of residence. We welcome all FHSU students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community. Here you can view and use materials from the library’s Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) in a secure, comfortable setting. The Reading Room also serves as the future home of the Larry and Lyn Fenwick Wizard of Oz Collection.
Make an Appointment
As SCUA materials are rare and often irreplaceable, these materials must be used in the Larry & Lyn Fenwick Reading Room. The Fenwick Reading Room’s hours of operation are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on days when the University is open. While Tebo Library welcomes walk-ins, it is recommended that you make an appointment to maximize your research visit.
Here are some things to keep in mind before booking your appointment:
- All collection material requires review by personnel before they can be delivered to the Fenwick Reading Room. Please schedule your appointment at least three business days prior to your preferred date to ensure SCUA personnel have requested materials ready for you.
- Please be aware that SCUA personnel cannot retrieve materials after 3:45 PM.
- If you are unfamiliar with SCUA materials or would like to discuss the scope of a particular collection you wish to review, please contact SCUA personnel to schedule a consultation prior to your appointment or during your visit.
- We also encourage you to explore our collections using the Special Collections and University Archives Finding Aids, the library’s catalog, and the FHSU Scholars Repository’s Archives Online and FHSU Digital Collections.

About Larry & Lyn Fenwick
The Larry & Lyn Fenwick Room would not be possible without the generosity of its patrons, Larry and Lyn Fenwick. Both Larry and Lyn were born and raised in Kansas, and after their marriage they attended Fort Hays State University together, graduating in 1966.
The following four years were spent in New England, while Larry served as an officer in the United States Air Force and Lyn taught school. After leaving the military, Larry began his investment career in Texas, and Lyn attended Baylor University School of Law. Their careers led them to New York City, Georgia, North Carolina, and back to Texas where Lyn left her active practice of law to become a published author.
Since retirement, they have returned to the family farm in Kansas, where Larry handles their business matters and Lyn continues to write. They have been collecting Oz memorabilia since the 1980s and continue to expand their collection.
